This is a demonstration of my approach to the ANIM 140 class at SCAD with Professor Brain Schindler. We created a short scene parody using LEGO-style characters and backgrounds. I selected the song 'That's What I Like' by Bruno Mars, and here is a breakdown.

Reference footage :

I selected this due to my appreciation for his dance style, which is highly organic and lends itself well to animation. It was both enjoyable and distinct from other experiences.

Stage 1 : Modelling & Texturing

So, I’ve got my base model ready for the animation now. Prof Brian gave me the thumbs-up to recreate my logo character.

Step 2 : Rigging & Animation

I have now equipped the character with basic controls to work with. This enabled the 3D model to move its body parts and animate by assigning keyframes. I animated using the straight-ahead technique.

Step 3 : Lighting & Rendering

This was the last part where I handled the lighting and rendering for the animation. I went with the Arnold render engine using the GPU setup. Each frame took about 35 seconds to render, and the resolution was 1920 x 1080.

Small Demo reel for the assignment :

This is a Demo reel which I submitted for the APAP review
